Typical Sailing Day Charter Itinerary

You will board the yacht at Neptune Marina at 10.00am and enjoy a cup of fresh coffee or tea together with pastry. We then carry out a safety
briefing and advise you of the tour route for that day. We then will make ready to leave Ipswich docks via the lock and explain the running procedures
of the yacht. Those who wish to are encouraged to join in the handling of the yacht.

Lunch can either be spent at Anchor or whilst sailing (weather dependant) or alternatively could be spent at the Pier at Harwich after berthing alongside the pontoon at Harwich harbour. The afternoon could then be spent exploring the upper reaches of the Stour or travelling along the cost taking in views. We will then return to the Ipswich Docks where you can either disembark, dine at one of the many restaurants on the Quayside or dine alfresco on-board depending upon the weather. A normal sailing day lasts from 10.00 until 17.00 but we can upon request extend this to take in the evening as well. Typical cost for a whole day trip with lunch on board with back to Ipswich docks for 17.00 would be £525.

Longer trips are also possible and we plan to do several trips to St. Katherine Docks in London for which we would charge £200 per person one way. Typical sailing duration times are 15-20 hours which obviously entails some night time sailing. We offer a maximum of six persons for this type of trip.

Other Trips available are:

One way to/from Southwold harbour, West Mersea and Boulogne, France, London, Ipswich, Aldburgh, Deben, Felixstowe, Wivenhoe, Brightlingsea, infact all of the East Coast. We are also offering trips to take part in the "Round Island Race" (IoW) next June, staying at Cowes, which will include all meals on board.

Bareboat & Skippered Charter

Spirit of Ipswich is also available for bareboat (where you provide the skipper) and skippered charters where you can take the yacht further afield and at your own pace. The cost for this is £2000 per week high season plus fuel. You are required to supply the details of the skipper who will need to be competent in handling a yacht of this type/size and have the necessary qualifications. As a guide we would expect the skipper to be up to Coastal skipper level with at least three years experience with at least one other person on board with experience of boat handling and sailing. As a guide we can provide you with a suitable skipper for £200 per day.
